Other than its stunning islandic beauty, Symi is nationally known for its traditional tastes. Symiako garidaki (Simian prawn) is a small-sized prawn of 3-5cm that is gathered around the island in large herds. It is collected from a depth of 3-200 meters all year round and eaten fried as a whole, especially along with ouzo! Don’t forget to taste the crusty buns and biscuits or the famous Panormitis cheesepie.
